Early in Andre’s life, he suffered from significant asthma attacks. Andre had to make frequent trips to the hospital and was often in the ER for hours on end. On one occasion, a volunteer came to his bay and brought him a game. Andre felt such relief to have something to play with and it helped pass the time as he waited for his next treatment. Andre often thinks of that volunteer and how she made such a difference in his life with a small donation.

Andre decided to try and do the same for other children. He partnered with The Birthday Bag Organization and was matched with The Izzy Foundation. Andre has been making birthday bags or gift bags for children now for the past two years. He hopes they bring a few moments of joy to the children that receive them.

Andre is looking forward to learning more about The Izzy Foundation and the work it does by joining the Y.O.U.T.H. Board. There are so many ways he can affect the lives of others, even if it is one gift bag at a time.
