I am truly honored and humbled to join The Izzy Foundation as the new Executive Director in March 2022. The Izzy Foundation is an organization that I have long respected along with their mission to help patients and their families whose children have cancer or other life altering medical conditions to Live, Laugh, Love and Play.

At the age of 11, I lost one of my best friends to leukemia. At such a young age, I did not have a full understanding of what this diagnosis was or the particularities of treatment; However, I knew that I never wanted to see anyone suffer like my friend and her family. The Izzy Foundation was not yet established, but I know what a positive impact this non-profit would have made in their journey.

At the end of 2011, I participated in a fundraising campaign for a non-profit organization that helped to better the lives of those suffering from blood cancer. My passion to raise funds for this cause was rooted in my desire to keep my friend’s memory alive. Through that campaign, I met the most incredible volunteers and family members. The relationships I built coupled with the experience as a whole assured me that I was meant to make a difference in the lives of families that are devastated by cancer. Prior to 2011, I was a paralegal for over 20 years, but my heart led me to make a career change. I started to work in the non-profit sector and since I made that decision, I never looked back.

I have been blessed to meet the most amazing people while engaging in the most inspiring work, which makes this new and wonderful opportunity so special to me. I try to live by my favorite quote, “Be The Change You Want To See In The World”. I want to continue to Be The Change as I support The Izzy Foundation in my new role as Executive Director.

I am looking forward to meeting and collaborating with all of you in the future. As I turn the page and begin this new and exciting chapter in my life, I am determined to give my best to our Izzy Families, volunteers, interns, committee members, community supporters, and above all, continuing Izzy’s IZspiration.
