
Tara DeMoura
Tara DeMoura, who has been with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) for two decades, is recognized as an industry leader advancing bold business strategies for growth and operational excellence. During her tenure, she has held leadership positions in the areas of underwriting, sales, product development, analytics and operations and has been a member of the senior leadership team since 2016.
In her current role, Tara leads enterprise IT, data & analytics, health plan operations, member experience and BCBSRI’s strategic project management office. She is responsible for driving strategic objectives aimed at operational efficiencies. In addition, she leads the teams that help ensure BCBSRI clients and members have an easy and convenient experience with their plans and oversees the administration of member benefits and servicing.
Tara holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Providence College and is a former member and captain of their division I field hockey team. She is active in her home community of Westport, Massachusetts, where she is an instructional basketball volunteer coach. She has also served as a board member and is the former finance chair of Girls on the Run Rhode Island, a nonprofit organization serving Rhode Island and Bristol County, Massachusetts. In addition, she served as a board member for the Girl Scouts of Southern New England in 2019 and is currently a board member for the American Heart Association’s Southern New England chapter. She is excited for the opportunity to serve on The Izzy Foundation board and looks forward to bringing her expertise in nonprofit organizations to the role.
