Richard “Ace” Aceto
Richard “Ace” Aceto grew up in North Providence and has been involved in some aspect of the medical profession since high school. He served his community as a call system firefighter/EMT on the North Providence Fire Department, and spent 10 years working as a pharmacy technician for CVS and Roger Williams Medical Center. From 1995 – 1997, he worked in the Emergency Department of Rhode Island Hospital as a counselor until he found an opportunity to work for GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceuticals where he spent 24 years. He has since worked for AstraZeneca and Novavax.
Ace has also been a professional stand up comic since 1989 and has entertained audiences all up and down the east coast. He is a branch manager of Funny4Funds, a comedy night fundraising company that has helped organizations raise over $10 million dollars in 10 years.
Ace has previously served on the Boards of the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of New England, the American Lung Association of Rhode Island, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Rhode Island (where he also ran for Man of the Year twice). Ace is excited to bring his experience to The Izzy Foundation not only to help local families who are fighting childhood cancer, but also to help families beyond Rhode Island benefit from the Izzy Foundation’s mission.
