Erin Scott, Executive Director

Erin moved to Rhode Island from Utah in 2010 and started volunteering with The Izzy Foundation soon thereafter.  Erin has a passion for nonprofits and has worked in the nonprofit health care sector since 1999. Erin has her Masters in Social Work from Rhode Island college and is the first employee of The Izzy Foundation and runs all the necessary aspects of the organization including managing the Izzy Family room by providing trained volunteers, supplies and facilitating programs. Erin Scott is a parent of a child who had cancer, which enables her to have a unique sense of empathy and understanding for families at diagnosis  and beyond.

As I reflect on this past year, I have a deep gratitude for the dedicated and hardworking volunteers, interns, staff and hospital employees I am fortunate to work with every day.  I know that there is no greater reward than the opportunity to partner with passionate people, and many of The Izzy Foundation’s accomplishments are the direct result of your unwavering commitment to the mission.

To all those who contributed this year: our sponsors, donors, those who attended our fundraising events, provided a meal, supported a bereaved family or embraced the scholarship program and also the individuals who gave of their time, talents and resources – thank you.  I sincerely believe our successes would not have been possible without your efforts.

And to the families, thank you for letting me walk some of your journey with you.  The Izzy Family Room is a special place, and I am honored to be part of your lives in this home away from home.  I have laughed, danced, dined, played and cried with you, and I am IZspired daily by your courage.  In the coming year, I commit to listening to your input as we develop new spaces and programs.

I believe the best is yet to come!!!

Tammy Ricci, Executive Assistant

Tammy began working for The Izzy Foundation in October of 2017.  This opportunity fulfilled a desire to be involved with an organization that plays such a significant role in the pediatric cancer community.  She has extensive experience in the role of Executive Assistant, including working under business owners, CEOs, and a  Vice President of a Fortune 100 company.

Tammy is a lifelong resident of Rhode Island, where she lives with her husband, Kevin and her beloved son, KJ.  Her passion for supporting the pediatric cancer world began when her son KJ was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in December 2011 at age 9.  KJ battled for nearly four years until successfully reaching remission, but continues to struggle with long term side effects. After meeting so many families that have been affected by this awful disease, Tammy co-founded a peer group with a fellow cancer mom which is sponsored by The Izzy Foundation. Her ultimate goal is to bring warmth and light to those affected by pediatric cancer, “Izprired” by Izzy’s mission to live, laugh, love and play during treatment and beyond.
